Using OSX users as users in apache/iTools

We have an administrative computer, with absolutely tons of OSX users that can 
log into the machine.  If at all possible, we would like to use these accounts 
as users in apache/iTools, so we can use
them for authentication purposes on most of our websites.  

Is this possible, if not, is there any other program that makes it possible?
