FTPuser login failt

hi all,

i have the following problem:

new created ftp users cannot log in via FTP in the ftp-directory. 
Older users can log in.

i running mac os 10.2.6 with the latest updates and itools 6.5.7.
after systemupdate i run the itools installer once more und update 
the system permission with the diskutility.


the adduser-utility works fine.

the problem was diskussed in the list, but i don't know if anybody 
had an answer.


i'm a little bit in panic.
