Hi,

The Apple Server Setting panel should not be used in conjuction with iTools because Apple Server Setting will attempt to start up their own FTP server which will cause a conflict on your system.

You might want to check /etc/xinetd.d. There is probably a file called ftp.darwin, and rename it to ftp. This should allow you to enable Apple's FTP server in Apple Server Setting.

For iTools 7's FTP doesn't work on your system. This could be an unresolved hostname which prevent iTools 7 to start. You would need to configure DNS or put your hostname in /etc/hosts file to make your hostname resove so iTools FTP would start. Hope this helps.

regards,
Eric

In the Apple Server Settings panel, there's a yellow alert message attached
to FTP services telling me I have an "Indeterminate FTP state!" that only
goes away if I manually start/stop FTP services within that panel.

Restarting FTP server within the iTools Manager or web admin interface
doesn't work, and obviously this isn't going to work if that has to be
manually started/restarted.

I've now uninstalled iTools in order to try and isolate the problem, but
it's still there...

Anyone have any ideas?
