Re: maillog cron "bug" & questions

Please correct me if I am wrong in my analysis.
Your analysis is correct. We will fix this in the next release. You
can modify the cron job to do it at:
58 23 * * *
/Library/Tenon/WebLog/mailLogCron
Also some questions remain from yesterday:
1) Is the maillog page only supposed to analyze outgoing messages?
It analyze both. There is a problem with Post.Office log file. It
doesn't log the sender, when the mail is received from a mail client
and send to outside world. Therefore, the stats would seem like Top
Sender and Receiver are remote users.
2) Is it possible that there is a parsing bug in iTools 7.2 awstsats
implementation that prevents it from finding all appropriate PO records?
The problem is in the Post.Office logging, rather than the awstats
mail log conversion problem.
3) Anyone else here on the list having success or obvious failure with the
new maillog feature?
mail.tenon.com has good success on using the mail log analyzer for Post.Office.
4) How do I debug why the cron job doesn't run the log parser but allows me
to run it manually?
Try to create another cronjob for the root user. i.e:
*/2 * * * * /a/program
This will run the program every two minutes. You can write a shell
script and write to a file, and see if the file is updated every two
minutes.

Eric
