Re: Realm 'Forbidden' problem

Hi again,
I've emailed Eric Yang about this, but just wondered if
anyone has had the issue of adding a realm to their server stop
working - any new realm I add gives me a 'Forbidden' error when i try
to access it - it asks for a username & password, but once entered,
it gives the forbidden error - all old realms work fine, but none of
the new ones will work - configuration of the old to new looks
identical - I am currently running iTools 7.1
Thanks for any supplies.
There was an old issue with the tilde (~) users directories not being added
to realm control properly but that was fixed in an update. Are you trying to
use realm control on tilde dirs or another kind of redirect? Just sniffing
around, I don't really have too much to go on.

Hi again,
Thanks for the reply - yes I did see that entry in the FAQ,
but it was actually for a realm in a client's website I needed to get
working - the following email from Eric explained what was wrong:
The realm is working, but you didn't specify Display Indexes option,
therefore when the folder is empty, you get 403 errors. You can put
an index.html or select Display Indexes option, then this problem
will go away.
Hopefully this will serve for future reference in the archives.

Bye for now, Terry Allen
