Hi Eric,
So, to rephrase my question... shouldn't there be *approximately* 1284
messages analyzed in the awstats maillog? Especially since no errors were
reported in the maillog stats page generated by awstats. In my case,
yesterday there were only 43 and they all seem to be outgoing messages
rather than both incoming and outgoing.
To respond to your query about spurious entries in the PO log (SMTP-Error),
I ran this command:
sudo more /var/spool/post.office/log/post.office.log | grep
SMTP-Accept:Received | grep -v Error | wc -l
and today it shows 778 messages. The web page shows only 2 messages analyzed
today. 2 is exactly the number of messages we have sent out today so far.
Questions:
1) Am I mistaken about what this page is supposed to display?
2) Is it only supposed to analyze outgoing messages?
3) Is it possible that there is a parsing bug in iTools 7.2 awstsats
implementation that prevents it from finding all appropriate PO records?
4) Anyone else here on the list having success or obvious failure with the
new maillog feature?
Cheers,
dan
