Cool, thanks for that Eric - I have heard that 10.3 may be
using Postfix as opposed to Sendmail in OSX Server - does this
apply to OSX client & if so, how does this affect us with iTools

As an aside, I finally got Spam Assassin up & running with
iTools/sendmail (with a little help) - awesome. A client who was
getting about 300 spams a week has now had that load reduced to
virtually nothing.
10.3 client also uses Postfix. We are updating iTools to
automatically detect and wrap around Postfix for mail services.
However, it would be a time consuming task for existing sendmail
configuration to move to Postfix because they are really different
internally.

Eric
Hi again,
thanks Eric - that's *bad* news - what a massive pain - I
know you guys are testing, but is there going to be some sort of
migration path to allow us to move our existing iTools systems
which are running sendmail, to Postfix?
In terms of CGIs etc..., I think Postfix is a drop-in
replacement for sendmail isn't it? hopefully not a massive upgrade
problem.
Terry, we are supporting Post.Office, which includes SpamAssassin
and is superior to both sendmail and postfix. So Tenon will not
help customers transition from 'sendmail' to 'postfix'. We are,
however, very happy to help people transition from sendmail to
Post.Office, also a drop in replacement for sendmail in terms of CGI
support.

Of course, it goes without saying, that if you already added
SpamAssassin to sendmail and you are happy with your situation, that
you don't have to update to Panther, right?

Hi again,
Yes, I am happy with my situation, but using that logic,
happy iTools users wouldn't need to ever upgrade again either - I
don't have to upgrade, but Panther will offer some good new things &
as always, so will iTools. For my purposes & quite a few other users
who I am in contact with, Post.Office is simply overkill for our
needs but we have more mailboxes than the free version handles.
