Re: Itools, Server shutting down
Thanks!
No, it is not a regular thing and I checked the license number settings.
After I sent this message I found searching on the Web that SIGTERM
is definitely a command sent from PHP
I couldn't find anything more enlightening, but it looks that some
PHP script gets stuck and never ends.
There are several scripts that use cURL to exchange information with
remote servers and some of them may take a long time to get a
response.
May me it is a time-out problem, but I didn't find anything about that.
Some hints I collected suggest that it usually has to do with IMAP,
but it doesn't seem to be my case.

This is the third time it is happening
I use iTools 6.7
Server shuts down and error log says:
[warn] child process 502 still did not exit , sending a SIGTERM
...and a few more like that and then:
[notice] caught SIGTERM, shutting down
My idea is that some long loops I have in PHP scripts may somehow cause
it, although I have no real way to figure it.
As a temporary solution, is there a way to make server restart after
shutting down?
The problem is , it will probably take a while to figure out what
really goes wrong, but a simple manual restart does the trick.
Is it possible to automate that?
Alexei
PS It looks that there is a problem with IMAP - at least I found some
mentions of that on the Web?
Any input/
Hi again,
If it's a regular thing (i.e. every couple of hours), it's possible that
your iTools license number has somehow been reset & the web server is
shutting down because it thinks it's a demo (or it is indeed a demo version
of iTools) Simple reset your license number & hopefully that'll be the end
of the problem if that's the case. Hope it is.
