Thanks for the reply Terry.

It's a strange issue - at the moment the order is holding across 
apache restarts - maybe it's a system restart issue.
I'll have to wait and see, I don't like restarting the server too much.

As an aside does anyone know why I would have 50 (!) of these listed 
under ps -aux

root    10327   0.0  0.0        0      0 con- Z     1Jan70   0:00.00 
(httpd-admin)

Fifty all the same just different PIDs
