No, what I got from the article, is not the problem with the g5
processor, it is Apple's implementation of BSD, ie software! That's why
the author said that Yellowdog might be a better way to go for
server/database applications. A protected core, Apples version,
protects the core from the application software by putting a middle
layer between the two. Linux allows direct access to the core operating
software by the applications. At least that is what I understood by the
article.
