iTools 8 offers tools to manage, configure Apache

===================
Tenon: How come we find out about iTools 8 release from OTHER
sources? Why doesn't Tenon announce it on this list, FIRST??? It
would make sense as we're the core users. We're the guys with a
vested interest in the product. Why aren't we given first
consideration?
Blaine, you're absolutely right! In the future, we'll include the
iTools list on the press announcement.

What we didn't say in the press announcement and what we want to make
sure all of you know, is that problem raised last week about large
downloads truncating at 64KB is something that Tenon fixed for Apache
2 on Tiger, but something that is still in Apple's Tiger/Apache 2.
This is important for two reasons: 1) make sure you all upgrade to
the shipping version of iTools 8; and 2) if you hear anything on the
web about Tiger not supporting Apache 2, rest assured that iTools 8
Apache 2 on Tiger works very well.
In addition, please upgrade by downloading the full release and
installing over your existing iTools 8 or iTools 7 installation.

We've removed System Update from iTools 8 for 10.2 and 10.3. For the
momement, System Update is only supported for Tiger. However, System
Update is for small updates/patches, not for a complete release. So,
even if on Tiger, don't use the built-in System Updater for this
release. In the future on Tiger you will be able to use System Update
for minor updates. And, we may be able to add System Update back in
for 10.3.
The upgrade (including all the individual package updates) should be
seamless, but it is always a good idea to back up your web server
before a major system upgrade. Terry Allen has given excellent
advice about upgrading from iTools 7.x (see his earlier posting
about SSL certificate labeling styles).
We are using Tiger development tools now and we think it results in a
performance boost, so you should be very happy with iTools 8.
