I also have run into this problem. Tomcat under the Beta Version
was working fine but after installing/upgrading to the Release
version I get the following when I try to restart Tomcat in the
"Server Status" pane of the Administration Server
I replaced the existing server.xml and web.xml with the *.xml.dist
default files, and then added JAVA_HOME=/usr to catalina.sh.
Restarted Tomcat and waited a while. While it shows what looks
like an error for a while, eventually it's up and running! :-)
Info: Apache-Coyote/1.1
Why the heck do Tomcat error messages need to be so cryptic?
cheers,
Richard
