it's about an old, outstanding issue at least a year old (itools 7)...

Check this message from a few months back.


I had exactly the same problem. Proftpd needs to know which shells a user can use. Somehow, the nologin shell (oxymoron?) doesn't exist in the place you need it.

So, whatever was broken then, is still broken in iTools7.

/sbin/nologin as the last line of /etc/shells file and it is working.
