Installing Client on Xserve

I'm getting a dual 1ghz g4 xserve with 10.2 unlimited server software.

Should I stick with 10.2.8 server and install Itools
or
Can I / Should I install 10.4 client on the xserve.

This server is going to be webhosting strictly with the Itools package, 
so I don't need all the bells and whistles of server vs client except 
for the watchdog utility.

Not financially ready to purchase 10.4 server, so that's the reason for 
the question.

Any thoughts on this?
