Tenon and Imacination Bring New eCommerce Solution to Macintosh

WebTen and Ch-ching! - a low-cost eCommerce alternative on MacOS

Santa Barbara, CA, January 4, 1999. Tenon Intersystems and Imacination Software are joined in an effort to extend the eCommerce offerings on Macintosh platforms. Imacination will be demonstrating Ch-ching!, their new electronic storefront software, this week at Macworld/San Francisco in the Tenon booth (#3550) at the new NetInnovators Pavilion.

Imacination's Ch-ching! automates the task of setting up an electronic storefront. It works in conjunction with Blue World's Lasso to provide robust product search and display, integrated credit card processing, and extensive shipping and tax computation. It includes powerful remote administration. Because it is built around the popular Filemaker Pro 4 >from Filemaker, Inc. and Blue World's Lasso web development language, it can be tied to almost any existing Filemaker or Lasso-based solution.

Tenon's WebTen is the most advanced web server for Macintosh. WebTen's top performance and ability to support multiple secure storefronts on a single machine, makes it the perfect companion for Ch-ching! When combined with WebTen, Ch-ching! is an ideal eCommerce solution for the small to medium size business on the web.

"The internet is the fastest growing frontier of retail sales today. We are proud to announce a product that combines all the features of the most robust custom developed solutions with the ease of instant setup," said Imacination president, Allon Bendavid. "Ch-ching! is a break-through product for small to medium sized companies requiring a powerful, extensible, yet incredibly easy-to-use eCommerce solution," said Bill Doerrfeld, president of Blue World Communications. "Based on the Lasso Web Data Engine, Ch-ching! offers unprecedented flexibility for rapid development and deployment of sophisticated eCommerce solutions across platforms."

Tenon is extending its already powerful WebCatalog/WebMerchant eCommerce solution from Pacific Coast, with this new product Ch-ching! to cater to small businesses that are looking for a low-entry point to web-based sales. Ch-ching is being sold for $495 per storefront. In combination with WebTen, multiple secure storefronts can be supported on a single machine, with each storefront having its own SSL certificate. This ability to support multiple secure storefronts is something that other popular Macintosh web servers, such as WebSTAR, cannot do. Ch-ching storefronts can be configured to handle all shopping cart functions outside of an SSL server and to handle payment transactions within an SSL server.
