Designed for the Service Provider Environment WebEdge is built on a single-process, multithreaded Web server engine that employs caching mechanisms for storage of common data requests. As a result, WebEdge is more scalable and outperform other Web-based email programs that use Perl, CGI or HTML scripting. These processes are too easily overloaded when the server receives many simultaneous requests.

Server Compatibility WebEdge works with any POP3 or IMAP server, allowing service providers to quickly integrate WebEdge applications into their existing service offerings.

High Availability The WebEdge server is designed for worry-free operation. It provides the highest level of availability to ensure subscribers have reliable access to their web-based email and calendars. Clustering technology and self-repairing mechanisms are built in to keep process threads available. Process threads are also monitored with heartbeat diagnostics that alert administrators when failure is detected and automatically restart the server.
